Tales From the Scales May Day Challenge Week 6

The good news? I’ve gotten about a half dozen comments in the last week about how much weight I’m losing. The bad news? I gained a ½ lb.! LOL So, this week’s increase in emotional, impulse, and late night eating are banished once again! LOL Here’s to another week!

Two great pieces of advice someone gave me this week: if you *think* you are hungry, try drinking a 8 oz. of water first. Sometimes we are so NOT used to feeling truly hungry that what we are feeling is simply our body saying it's thirsty! And someone else told me that once you actually *feel* thirsty, you are already getting dehydrated! So, basically....DRINK YOUR WATER! LOL

And, remember…

Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels!

I am going to tell myself this all week when I am sooo dying for that Oreo or Brownie!! That is a great quote :)

I need to remember the water thing too. I will snack all day then my husband comes home and says, "where's your water glass?" Then I realize I have gone the whole day w/ out water - no wonder I was so hungry!!!

Don't be encouraged! A new week has begun!

I gained this week too- 3 pounds. I am going to try your water idea. When I get one of my chocolate cravings I'll drink 8 oz of water first!
Have a better week!

You're doing great! I'll bet you'll lose way more than 1/2 pound next week. :)

I need to remember that saying when temptation strikes! I know you'll get that 1/2 lb. back off soon.

Oops -- I left the link to my regular blog rather than my weight loss blog. This one goes back to my weigh-in.

A half a pound could be the last glass of water you drank too! I think you are doing great and it is obviously showing since people are beginning to comment! Good work! Have a great week!

I know I'm going to run into the late night eating this week because of our crazy schedule so I'm with you on that one! And you are so right about the water. It makes a huge difference for me.

Good luck this week!!

The water does help a lot. I think there must be something about getting six weeks into this, everyone has had a slow week in losses or even gained. Don't beat yourself up!! Things will turn around if you keep at it.

Hang in there, we're all in it together! Sending hugs and prayers your way.

Dr. Oz was on Oprah the other day. He said the way to judge whether you are properly hydrated is if your urine is clear. You should be able to reach through it. If you can't, you need more water. Bob Green was on yesterday and mentioned drinking water to fill up. I think that's a lot of baloney myself. If you're hungry, eat some baby carrots with nonfat ranch dressing. They will give you some fiber and fill you up. Not to mention help your eyesight and fulfill that desire to hear something go "crunch."

Stop by and read some of my entries . . . my hope is that they will be helpful to someone besides me! :-)
