Never thought much about my solution until recently talking with some of my fellow "church ladies" about gathering recipes for an upcoming church cookbook. When I described what I did, several ladies said "oh that's a great idea! I should do that!" So, I thought maybe someone else out in Blog-land might be interested as well.
It's simply a 1" inch three ring binder with page protectors. I've got mine divided into sections like "entrees", "sides", "soups/salads" (since we so often do them together), etc. Nothing spectacular but it works for me! Go to Shannon's site for more great ideas!

Great idea!! I am a hopeless cookbook collector! Ask me how many recipes I have actually used *smile*. This way, you cut out what you want and pitch the rest! I subscribe to Taste of Home and Simple and Delicious magazines and they pile up...now I know what to do. Thanks Beth!!
I really like this idea, thanks.
I do the same thing -- great minds think alike. :) One other thing I do is but dividers with pockets to put inbetween the sections. That way I can tuck recipes in that I've snipped but not tried yet. If I try them and the family likes them, then I can put them on a cookbook page.
I really should try this. I clip recipes and tuck them here and there and sometimes can't find them when needed! Thanks.
Great idea! I love binders. Thanks for sharing! =)
Great idea. I'm going to incorporate this into my kitchen.
Having it organized makes cooking sooooooo much easier! Happy WFMW!
I've been doing this too and it is so much easier to have my favorite recipes handy then looking in a file or books for them. My book was getting too full so I just bought another one and separated all the breads and dessert recipes into a new book. If I continue to fill up the notebooks (I use thin ones so they are easier to manage) I can subdivide again into more specific categories. I'm thinking of making another one that will just have my holiday recipes in it since there are many things that I only make once a year and it would be nice not to have to go hunting for them each year.
