I've have the worst three ADD days this week than I have in a long, long time. After a week like this, I remember why anxiety, depression, and substance abuse is so often found in people with ADD or ADHD. Lack of sleep this week. The first of this season's hot, humid weather. Lots more change on the horizon...some of which begins next week. Challenging behavior from the Vikings. All of which I feel like I'm handling badly. Dealing with ADD often makes you a bit of a control freak in order to bring some semblance of organization to your day. Change and pressure, while completely normal and to be expected, are not welcome. LOL
I had no idea what to write about this week. Been thinking and thinking and thinking. Then, it struck me 15 minutes ago while I'm trying to keep myself together. And, I wrote this:

First, a poem
Jumping on the bandwagon for Pensieve's Poetic License this month. Completely missed last month (sorry Robin!) but didn't want the chance of writing another limerick go by. LOL
Guidelines are as follows:
Theme: none
Form: limerick
Additional: must include one or more of the following words: green, Irish, leprechaun, shamrock, Easter, Spring, kite, windy
So, without further ado:
March is 'bout birthdays 'round here
One for Mommy and sweet Flicka dear
Foods of every assortment
Balloons oozing disportment
Blue, green, red, orange colors to cheer.
Stop by Robin's bloggy home today to see what other poetic masterpieces she's encouraged!

Pensieve's Poetic License Challenge
While I don't technically have to post this until tomorrow, I thought I'd get it down now before my ISP goes all wonky AGAIN! *sigh*
Form for January: terza rima
Topic: beginnings OR fave snack food! (LOL)
And, I give you....mine! *wink*
A brave and bright new year has started
New habits begun with fresh pluck
Old habits and junk food have parted
But a temple God gave me neglected
Weight loss is a battle I’ll win
A healthier lifestyle selected!

A brave and bright new year has started
New habits begun with fresh pluck
Old habits and junk food have parted
New foods which offer less yuck
A walking routine will begin
A bargain with self has been struck
But a temple God gave me neglected
Weight loss is a battle I’ll win
A healthier lifestyle selected!

Pensieve's Poetic License
OK, I had WAY too much fun with this! LOL
While poking around at Kelly's site, I saw she was participating in a monthly meme that will stretch my slowly decaying poetry skills. As the one of the biggest English geeks I know (as someone who used to write TONS of poetry and LOVES teaching Shakespeare), I am ALL over this exercise!
This month's theme and form is thankfulness and the limerick! LOL (I'm sure NO ONE I know IRL thinks this is NEARLY as cool as I do! LOL) Anyway, just completed mine a few minutes ago:
In living, God's way is my goal
And given to Him is my soul
So thankful I'll be
That all those may see
God's praises are great to extol
OK, Shakespeare I'm not! *wink*
Anyway, pop over to Robin's site on Monday the 19th when she puts up the Mr. Linky for all the results and see what other "thankful limericks" everyone else created!
